Elisa Castro
Graduate Student Fellow

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, with roots tracing back to Viesca, Coahuila, Mexico, she has found inspiration in both the culture of her ancestral land and her birthplace. Castro is a first-generation Mexican American student who graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in English, a minor in Spanish, and a concentration in ELAR 6–12. She is part of the Transborder Digital Humanities Consortium Center as a research assistant (2025). Her research focuses on the intersections of migration and identity, exploring the impact of historical migration narratives and cultural preservation on identity formation through the use of digital humanities tools.
